Homeland Security Reads a Woman’s Emails and then Quizes Her about Her Sex LIFE!

Infowars has a story up that should make you stop right here and say, “NO EFFING WAY!!!”  The most outrageous part of this is that they had zero jurisdiction, zero reason to stop this woman, and yet, not only did they stop her, they read her emails to quiz her about her relationship with the man who had entered the country legally on a 10 year business visa!

First, where was their probable cause to even try to look at her emails.  Second, where was their warrant stating that probable cause.  This is big brother on steroids my friends, and if you don’t see the massive red flag waving, you are in a coma!

Homeland Security Used Intercepted Emails to Quiz Woman About Her Sex Life

How is the DHS obtaining private communications?

A senior lecturer at Indiana University was confronted by Department of Homeland Security officials after the federal agency obtained copies of her emails and began quizzing her about the details of her sex life.

The ACLU is filing a lawsuit on behalf of Christine Von Der Haar after she was detained by Customs and Border Patrol at at Indianapolis International Airport during an incident in 2012.

The sociology professor traveled to the airport merely to help her friend pick up some computer parts that had been shipped separately. Greek national Dimitris Papatheodoropoulos had already arrived in the country under a valid business visa which allowed him to enter and leave the United States for a period of 10 years.

Both Von Der Haar and Papatheodoropoulos were detained by DHS officers and bombarded with questions about their private lives, including whether they had shared sexual relations, with feds alleging that the two secretly conspired so that Papatheodoropoulos could stay in the country illegally.

“Given that Mr. Papatheodoropoulos had retained his hard drive that contained the emails, the only way that the Customs and Border Protection Agents could have reviewed the emails is for someone to have surreptitiously monitored the communications between Dr. Von Der Haar and Mr. Papatheodoropoulos and reported those communications to the agents questioning her,” states the lawsuit. “Defendant Lieba admitted that employees of the United States had read email communications between Dr. Von Der Haar and Mr. Papatheodoropoulos.”

Customs and Border Protection seized Papatheodoropoulos’ passport and commenced proceedings to remove him from the country, claiming he had misrepresented his intentions. After Papatheodoropoulos consulted with lawyers and the Greek Consulate in Chicago, the proceedings were halted and his passport was returned. Papatheodoropoulos left the country of his own volition in August 2012.

“CBP officers grossly exceeded their jurisdiction. Dr. Von Der Haar’s US citizenship was never questioned; she wasn’t trying to enter, leave, or ship and goods in or out of the country; and she was never accused of any crime. In general, immigration (as distinct from customs) offenses are handled by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol, not CBP. We’re curious what basis CBP will claim for its officers’ authority to detain and interrogate Dr. Von Der Haar or obtain her email,” asks Papers Please.

Either the DHS is obtaining Americans’ emails via their own undeclared (and illegal) snoop program, or they are being aided by the National Security Agency or some other government entity.

This case is not the only example of the DHS harassing travelers over personal information that the feds have no business or legal justification to know.

Last year we reported on the case of a Canadian woman was turned away by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent as a result of being hospitalized for a mental illness a year previously.

50-year-old Ellen Richardson was barred from traveling to New York City after she was told that “system checks” had found she “had a medical episode in June 2012” and that because of this “mental illness episode” she would be required to undergo medical evaluation by DHS-approved doctors before being accepted.

The Abortion Battle Lie in Texas

The debate we are currently hearing about in Texas is a circus side show.  If you were not informed, you would think Texas is about to ban abortions.  They are simply voting on whether to stop abortions after the 20th week!  Do you realize there are over 40 states with time limits on abortions including New York and New Jersey which are bastions of liberal ideology.   Oh, they give the poor child one more month so you can’t kill them after the 24th week!

Texas has a limit currently and is seeking to lower it to 20 weeks.  Some states have it as low as  6 weeks, and you don’t hear anything about that now do you? So, what is this really about? It’s more sex baiting.  The cry from the left is to keep the Republicans our of women’s pants!  The truth is they don’t give a damn about who is in their pants male, female or animal, but any opportunity to smear Republicans and all conservatives is a winning move for them.  I hate hypocrites, and this is the height of hypocrasy.  Why don’t they go on smear campaigns with coat hangers in their vaunted liberal bastion states? Why? Because they don’t give a damn about abortion, they care about separating Americans at any and every opportunity.  Keep us fighting about sex, race, religion and we will ignore their stealing our heritage and money.

New information about life and cognition

I cannot imagine the pain families must feel when a loved one has a terrible accident and is left in a vegetative state.  The person does not appear to make any meaningful actions which indicate they are aware of their surroundings, and thus many have pushed for the right of spouses, parents, and adult children to have the right to end their loved one’s lives legally through assisted “suicide” or the idea of ending someone’s suffering by just keeping them alive when they are “obviously” no longer there mentally.  Now, there is a new study and proof that these people may be very well aware of their surroundings, but they just don’t have the means to interact in any obvious way.  This video explains what has been discovered:

Man in Vegetative Coma ‘Tells’ Researchers Through Brain Scans He’s Not in Pain

  • Posted on November 14, 2012 at 11:30pm by Liz Klimas

Whether a patient is in pain is an important question for physicians. But for patients in a coma, it’s a question that is not likely to be answered.

Now, a Canadian man in a vegetative coma who hasn’t spoken for 12 years after a car accident “told” researchers he is not in pain.

BBC News reported Scott Routley’s parents saying they thought they’d seen their son attempt communication with his thumb or eyes before, but these sentiments were dismissed by medical staff. Although unclear if these were signs of the 39-year-old trying to communicate, scientists know now that Routley, even though he is still considered in a vegetative state, is aware of his surroundings.

Canadian Man in 12 Year Coma Indicates Through MRI Scans That Hes Not in Pain and Reveals Conscious State

British neuroscientist Adrian Owen, who leads the research team at the University of Western Ontario’s Brain and Mind Institute, told the Toronto Star their research with Roultey marks the first time such a patient has been able to answer a question “actually relevant to their clinical care.”

“It became very clear that Scott had some awareness and he could respond in the scanner to the task we asked him to do while he was in there,” Owen said.

The researchers asked Routley to move his arms. Of course he couldn’t, but based on his brain scan while in an MRI, they saw he was imagining himself doing so.

According to the Star, Owen said that although MRI’s are expensive a portable EEG machine could be a cheaper alternative to produce a similar monitoring effect.

Owen described the activity he saw in Routley’s brain as a blob that grew when the patient was told to imagine something and faded when he was told to stop.

BBC also reported that Canadian patient Steven Graham showed through brain scans that he had new formed memories since his accident. The team asked him if his sister had a daughter, who was born after his accident, and he indicated “yes.”

This new research regarding the conscious state of some patients could raise ethical questions regarding end of life care.

ABC News reported John Connolly, a neuroscientist at McMaster University in Ontario, saying this type of research that leads to patient interaction is a “very big deal” as some patients are denied certain treatment based on conscious state. He said judging patients solely on observed behavior, if they have trouble communicating, needs to end.   SOURCE
