So, we have had embassies closed in the Middle East in a “Terror Threat”. Muslim holy days just ended and somehow this is supposed to link to terror plots. The New World Order elites love special dates of spiritual significance and numeric value to strike at the heart of the people, like 9/11 for our emergency code 911. In Judaism, the month of Elul is a time of preparation for the “Days of Awe” which are some of the holiest in their religion and for those who believe in the bible. The month of Elul begins on August 7th and it is the second day of Rosh Chodesh which is celebrated on the last day of the month of Av and the first day of the month of Elul.
Rosh Chodesh celebrates Moses carving the Law of God on the tablets which he destroyed 42 days earlier when Israel fell into sin in his absence. Av is a very interesting month and you can read about it’s spiritual significance here.
As I said, the month of Elul is a time of introspection. I found this interesting:
As the last month of the Jewish year, Elul is traditionaly a time of introspection and stocktaking — a time to review one’s deeds and spiritual progress over the past year and prepare for the upcoming “Days of Awe” of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur.
As the month of Divine Mercy and Forgiveness (see “Today in Jewish History” for Elul 1) it is a most opportune time for teshuvah (“return” to G-d), prayer, charity, and increased Ahavat Yisrael (love for a fellow Jew) in the quest for self-improvement and coming closer to G-d. Chassidic master Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi likens the month of Elul to a time when “the king is in the field” and, in contrast to when he is in the royal palace, “everyone who so desires is permitted to meet him, and he receives them all with a cheerful countenance and shows a smiling face to them all.”
Can you imagine a terror attack at this time or leading into the most sacred days in Judaism? The time to recon your life, have your name inscribed in the book of life for another year, and to pay back your debts? We hear the war drums beating over Syria as we send in another 6000 troops and drone strike their people killing many innocent civilians. So, is an attack coming? What will your response be? Mine will be a time of prayer, sharing and hopefully sounding a shofar on this blog in hopes that someone wakes up.
The 7th of Elul or August 13th commemorates Pharaoh’s decree to kill every male Jewish baby. It’s also the time that the spies who feared the Canaanites finally died in the wanderings in the desert. I can see a lot of spiritual significance to our time here. We have wandered in a wilderness that feels like eternity. How many are ready for God to finally bring this show to a close and set things in order?
August 16th brings us to Elul the 10th which is when Moses released the raven to see if the flood waters had receded. In the last days, we are flooded with lies, and it appears this day is not the time of their ending.
Noah Dispatches Raven (2105 BCE)
On the 10th of Elul of the year 1656 from creation (2105 BCE), as the Great Flood neared its end, Noah opened the window of the Ark and dispatched a raven to determine if the flood waters had begun to recede (Genesis 8:1; Rashi). For a discussion of the deeper significance of this event, see The Window
August 29th or Elul 23rd brings the date Noah let the dove go to find that the flood had receded:
Dove brings Olive Leaf (2105 BCE)
On the 301st day of the great Flood, Noah sent a dove for the 2nd time from the ark (see “Today in Jewish History” for Elul 17). This time, the dove stayed away all day; “the dove came in to him in the evening, and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off; and Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth” (Genesis 8:11).
The 25th of Elul or August 31st is believed to be the first day of Creation. This year it is on the Sabbath:
Creation (3761 BCE)
The 1st day of creation, on which G-d created existence, time, matter, darkness and light, was the 25th of Elul. (Rosh Hashanah, on which we mark “the beginning of Your works”, is actually the 6th day of creation, on which the world attained the potential for the realization of its purpose, with the creation of the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. Rosh Hashanah is therefore the day from which the Jewish calendar begins to count the years of history; the 1st day of creation thus occurred on the 25th of Elul of what is termed -1 from creation. I shared these dates to show you there is many ways one can look at the times were are in and that understanding the mindset of terrorists be there from our government or those who really do hate us from the Middle East, they hate Israel more and it’s one thing to consider. Whether this has anything to do with the current “Terror Alert” no one can say, but it does appear they want us on edge.
